Rutherford County has set up three distribution points for food and emergency supplies. Deliveries and donations can be sent to these locations, and citizens may visit any of these sites to pick up supplies. Each location is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

WASHBURN COMMUNITY OUTREACH

We Will be Open Thursday this week, operating on a one hour delay, opening at 10:00, closing at 1:00 pm.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AND WELCOME, PLEASE ARRIVE AT 8 AM.

Wear closed toe shoes please.

We will have normal TEFAP food for clients that qualify based on NCDA and USDA income guidelines, as usual.

We will have shelf stable, non-frozen, non-refrigerated food for those without power, and the community at large (non-qualifying clients can be served)

We will have frozen and refrigerated food available to those with power.

We will have bottled water.

We will be taking information on chainsaw needs to pass on to a volunteer crew ready to help.

The Thrift Store Will be Closed.

If you are safe and have food, please help us help others safely that are in a state of food insecurity and emergency.

Lake Lure Storm Recovery Update 10/1/24 8AM - Please Enjoy Some Food, Take a Shower, And More…

The Town of Lake Lure has been working with the Christian Aid Ministry Rapid Response Team to set up a LAKE LURE RESOURCE CENTER with FOOD, SHOWERS, RESTROOMS, A TOOL TRAILER, A CHARGING STATION, and WIFI at Ingles on Highway 9 in Lake Lure. 

- The first meal served will be today, 10/1/24 beginning at 5:00PM. 

- There will be a shower trailer.

- A charging station will be available but please bring your charging cords. 

- We are working to establish WiFi so people will be able to come and make calls and send texts or emails. We will provide updates as this resource becomes available. 

- There will also be two tool trailers and workers to assist with repairs, street clearing, etc.

- Our local churches are also supporting this effort and will be available to offer spiritual support, as needed. Thank you to the Fairfield Mountains Chapel and Chimney Rock Baptist Church for your support!

The Lake Lure Baptist Church will have the A SHOWER TRAILER, RESTROOMS and MEALS starting today, Tuesday, 10/1/24.  These services will be available daily from 12-5PM.
